In King Arthurian legend Sir Kay is Sir Ectors son and King Arthurs foster brother and later seneschal as well as one of the first Knights of the Round Table. In later literature Sir Kay is known for his acid tongue and bullying boorish behavior but in earlier accounts Sir Kay was one of Arthurs premier warriors. Along with Sir Bedivere with whom he is frequently associated Sir Kay is one of the earliest characters associated with King Arthur.
